Off site resources:
Hospital sattelite clinics: 6, 4 are equipped with film based
general radiographic facilities. Films are physically transported to
Mercy Hospital for interpretation. A fifth facility has Computed radiography and images are interpreted and reported on the PACS system.
A sixth center performed Ultrasound, much of which is obstetrical, which is transmitted to the PACS system, and supplements the busy OB ultrasound expereience provided on site.
Independently owned facilities used for resident education:
Images from these facilities are transmitted to workstations
located at Mercy Hospital through dedicated VPN connections, and interpreted
by faculty as a component of their practice. These sites are not owned
by the hospital, but are owned by or have reading contracts with the faculty.
